Dina Meyer was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island, just before her last year in junior high school. Her siblings include one of whom is older, named Gregory as well as a younger sibling known as Evan. In the years between nine and 16, her first exposure to the business world was when she began modeling. Ron Stetson trained her in the acting techniques of Sanford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse. It took around three years. Sandra Bullock received similar training as did Michael Douglas and Jeff Goldblum. Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton are also amongst the actors that have undergone this type of training. Her first acting role came with Beverly Hills 90210. This meant she had to move out in Los Angeles. Within the following couple of months, she was offered the role in the role of Johnny Mnemonic. For this movie, she was responsible of almost every stunt and showed herself to be an excellent actor. The talent agent she worked with was also representing Matt LeBlanc so, through her agent she was able to secure a role in the show Friends.
